We care for our land through initiatives aimed at safeguarding the wellbeing of nature and people. This means we take steps to reduce our impact on the environment by investing in renewable energy and protecting biodiversity. At the same time, we pursue initiatives that improve the quality of life of our community and support the commitment of businesses and associations that strive to ensure future generations can enjoy a better tomorrow.
Over 60% of the energy we use comes from water and solar power. Our in-house hydroelectric plant produces 600,000 kWh annually and has always been an integral part of our energy system, covering 20% of our operational requirements. In 2012 we installed a large photovoltaic system on the roof, which supplies 40% of the energy we consume each year.
The water used in our hydroelectric plant comes from the Brentella passing through the area where we have our headquarters in Crocetta del Montello. Thanks to efficient management and coordination with the Brentella Canal Reclamation Consortium, the water used for energy production also allows us to irrigate the surrounding vineyards and to cool our tanks and autoclaves externally.
Our commitment to respecting biodiversity is assured through Biodiversity Friend, one of the most widely respected and difficult international certifications to obtain. Before it is issued, prospective candidates undergo rigorous analysis of numerous evaluation parameters. Soil fertility enhancement, pest and weed control, the presence of nectariferous species, water resource management, the presence of hedges and woodland, conservation of agricultural biodiversity, biological quality of the area and the use of renewable energies: our wine preserves the authentic character of an environment that’s unique in the world.
On our Crocetta del Montello estate, the site of our main office, we’ve created the first Vineyard Gym – an innovative project that combines our respect for the environment, our gratitude towards the local community and our commitment to hospitality. The Gym is a training circuit set between rows of vines, which is free for anyone to enjoy. Sport, meetings and outdoor activities: it’s a space for fostering community spirit and wellbeing each and every day.

We also donate to Ethiopiatomorrow.org, a non-profit organisation that supports schooling in orphanages located in the most depressed areas.
